LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
To say that magazine publisher, Jamie Foster Brown knows practically everyone who matters in the cultural life of New York City, and nearly every major metropolitan hub in the United States, is an understatement. Her popularity is undeniable, and what makes her different from the run of ordinary power people is that no imaginary velvet rope cordons off her cohort of friends and associates.
Jamie is probably most known for founding and publishing the nationally prominent Sister 2 Sister magazine. The publication had a twenty-six-year run before meeting the digital shift. And as that shift in technology changed at a rapid pace, Jamie’s life went through a series of transitions. But the moment the fog cleared, she noticed, surprisingly, that little in the world had changed in the last couple of millenniums, as it relates to cultural empowerment. Suddenly her second wind arrived.
